We understand that lost production time is lost revenue. We employ proven practices to ensure minimal shutdown times and efficient startups.

Shutdowns

CES understands every client’s need to keep shutdown times as short as possible. Our project managers and engineers have developed proven processes and practices to achieve cost- and time-efficient shutdowns. We execute as much pre-shutdown work as possible to limit actual downtime from an electrical, communications, instrumentation and controls standpoint. We perform pre-shutdown job safety analyses, site surveys and contingency planning, and we maintain superior OSHA and quality standards throughout each project’s life cycle.

CES has extensive experience in shutdowns in the following areas:

  • Production equipment lines
  • Manufacturing equipment lines
  • Food processes lines
  • Batch
  • Material handling lines
  • DCS/PLC updating and tie-in
  • MV and LV switchgear and panel installation and tie-in
  • Title 24 lighting and upgrades
  • Changeover from relay-based systems to microprocessor-based control systems
  • Replacement of electrical equipment and tie-in of new equipment
  • Lockout-tagout (LOTO)

Startups

CES has the expertise to conduct successful facility testing, commissioning and startup work. Startup takes the facility from construction to production and requires the best trained workforce. CES’s startup and commissioning personnel are qualified technicians who have the proper training and background to guarantee a facility’s safe and smooth operation.

Before we hand any project over to a client, we conduct extensive facility testing and commissioning. Our goal in commissioning is to find any omissions or errors that may have been overlooked during the construction phase and to provide knowledge transfer to your operations and maintenance departments while meeting project dates safely and professionally. With a focus on safety and quality, our capabilities are all encompassing.

Our goal in commissioning is to find any omissions or errors that may have been overlooked during the construction phase. We do this through P&ID walk downs. P&ID reviews address fundamental engineering and operations validation as well as maintenance issues.
